What is Race for Reading?
Together we are aiming to travel around the world in 80 days, raising crucial funds for Schoolreaders so we can provide one-to-one reading support sessions for thousands of primary school children across the country.
You can walk, run, cycle, swim or even hop to complete your miles over the course of 80 days. Simply decide if you want to take part alone or as part of a team, set your own mileage goal and decide how you want to complete your challenge. All miles completed will go towards our 25,000 mile goal.
When is Race for Reading?
The race will launch on March 31st and run until June 19th 2023
Where is Race for Reading?
There is no specific location for the race. You can cover your miles anywhere -- in your local park or at home running up the stairs! The choice is yours…

How do I set up a team page?
You can take on the race with friends, colleagues or family. You just need to set up your individual page first, then click edit page and navigate to the ‘Team’ tab. Who are Schoolreaders?
Schoolreaders was founded ten years ago in 2013 to improve childhood literacy throughout the UK. Our Schoolreaders volunteers are currently providing weekly one-to-one reading support sessions to over 13,000 primary school children across the country. By the end of this academic year, we hope to support over 18,000 children per week.
1 in 4 children leave primary school unable to read well. With the disruption to education caused by the pandemic, that statistic has become even worse for the most disadvantaged children who have fallen even further behind.
Our aim is to increase these children’s life chances by offering a vital service, free of charge to schools. To find out more please visit www.schoolreaders.org
